Fire Suppression Service will file a Mechanics Lien at end of job, if it is unpaid.


MECHANIC'S LIENS:
TWO PARTS:
1.
Preliminary Notices must be filed with the State Construction Registry; ("SCR")
 for all non-residential & all residential projects.
A Preliminary Notice is mandatory for all subcontractors and suppliers where a 
Notice of Commencement or a Building Permit has been filed with the SCR
 or you may lose your right to file a Mechanic's Lien

2.
A Mechanic's Lien is a claim which attaches to real property
 and is created to secure payment for work performed and/or materials
 furnished for the improvement of real property. 


Mechanic's Liens must be recorded within 90 calendar days of completion of the original contract.
 If your contract is the only contract, we have 90 calendar days from the completion of
 our project or supply of material to record our lien.

After filing a Mechanic's Lien,
 you have 180 calendar days from the date of filing to initiate a lawsuit
 to foreclose the Mechanic's Lien or the lien will become invalid.

The following time constraints should be considered when preparing a Preliminary Notice or recording a Mechanic's Lien:
